RMP Evaluation
An RMP evaluation ensures that the RMP, associated procedures and export requirements are complete and will deliver the outcomes in the Animal Products Act, Regulations, NZFSA Specifications and Approved Criteria if it is complied to fully and that the RMP adequately covers the scope of the operation.
vital step in registering your rmp
An evaluation must be completed for new RMPs or significant amendments to RMPs. The Operator must contract a RMP Evaluator to complete the evaluation before registration of the RMP or significant amendment. The Evaluation report and endorsed RMP is to be submitted by the RMP operator to NZFSA.
Evaluations are not required where there is a waiver issued by NZFSA (for example, NZFSA approved template RMPs).
AsureQuality capability
AsureQuality has NZFSA-approved evaluators to carry out evaluations on a Company’s Risk Management Programme, when required to do so. A full report is provided to the company on conclusion of the evaluation outlining non-conformances (if any) along with the corrective action time lines and final close out.
Note: An RMP evaluation will normally consist of a desk top assessment however the evaluator may be required to carry out on site activities in order to complete the evaluation.
NZFSA approved RMP templates
NZFSA has developed and approved a number of RMP Templates for operators to use for particular operations. Eligible operators may elect to use a RMP Template for development of their RMP. If the RMP is fully based on the template then the operator does not have to provide an independent Evaluation report.
Refer to the NZFSA website for current approved RMP Templates, associated Guidelines and waiver for the requirement to provide an independent Evaluation Report.
